The role of Territory Sales Manager:

  • You will be selling laboratory consumables, chemicals, and equipment to customers within Academia, Research, Biotech, Clinical, Pharmaceutical, and Industrial laboratory environments
  • There is an existing customer base which needs to be built upon and extended so Account Management skills and Business Development skills will be essential to success and this role
  • Provide customers with timely responses and quotations
  • Generate leads for key suppliers and provide regular feedback on open opportunities
  • Attend joint customer visits with key suppliers
  • You will be supported by a team of product and technical sales specialists, so you will need to be a strong team player who can reach out for help and support within your key accounts
  • Support Field Sales Team in key flagship accounts
  • Work with key suppliers and Field Sales Team to create territory plans, selling strategies and regional Marketing Promotions
  • Identify new business opportunities within the territory

The requirements of the Territory Sales Manager:

  • You will already have 1+ year’s experience as either an Internal OR Field Based Sales Specialist, Account Manager, Territory Manager, or equivalent role successfully selling Laboratory/Life Science consumables such as Pipettes, Tips, Cell/Tissue Culture plastics and/or bench top equipment such as PCR Cabinets, Centrifuges, Balances, Shakers, Stirrers, Freezers, Dry Bath Incubators, Vortexer’s or similar products
  • You will be educated to a minimum BSc degree level or equivalent in a Life Sciences/Biological subject such Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology or Biomedical Science, Genetics, Microbiology, or Immunology – Chemistry degrees will also be considered
  • Scientists with a commercial mindset and hunger to succeed in a scientific sales role will also be considered
  • My client requires that the successful candidate possess excellent communication and organisational skills, you must be a real self-starter and show high levels of autonomy as the Account Manager for this high performing and competitive territory
  • Established and positive working relationships with customers in the Academia, Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical industries
  • A full UK driving license is required with the ability to travel outside of territory when required

Benefits:

  • Base Salary Circa: £30,000 -£38,000 DOE

The requirements of the Field Service Engineer role:

  • You will have 1+ years experience in a laboratory based role such as a Scientist, Chemist, Analyst, Equipment Technician, Lab Manager or similar where you have troubleshooted and maintained HPLC systems from OEM’s such as Waters, Agilent, Perkin Elmer, Thermo Fisher, Shimadzu, SCIEX or equivalent
  • Additional experience with equipment such as GC, GC-MS, LCMS, Spectroscopy, UV-VIS, FTIR would be beneficial 
  • Experience working in a GMP environment is ideal 
  • You will be educated in either a life science/chemistry or engineering subject 
  • Must hold a Full UK driving license & valid UK Passport
  • Experience of effective verbal communication skills in a customer facing or customer service environment, with excellent telephone manner

The Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:

  • Travel to customer sites to deliver routine planned maintenance and breakdown support in line with my client’s service plans
  • Refurbish and validate equipment for the refurbished instrument program in line with SOPs at my clients UK facility
  • Identify new customers or new market segments that could become long term accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to allow continuation of business and win incremental business
  • Perform onsite duties including, service, validation, repair, accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Complete and submit all paperwork to the admin team
  • Forge and maintains relationship with existing and new customers
  • Promote the company’s brand and range of services where applicable
  • Manage and be accountable for stock allocated to the service call
  • Provide remote support via phone and email to customers where requested
  • Maintain knowledge of the products and services

Benefits:

  • Base Salary Circa £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
  • Fully expensed company car (hire car provided during probation)
  • Tax free daily allowance
  • £10 when in the field for up to 8 hours
  • Over time can will be paid in following fiscal year (January) or this can be taken of during the year as recover days, so no impact is made on statutory holidays
  • Pension -  6% employer contribution with a minimum 3% employee contribution after 3 months continuous employment.
  • 23 days holiday rising to 25 with continual service + 8 bank holidays
  • 3 x salary – death in service after 3 months continuous employment.

The Requirements of the Field Application Scientist:

  • The ideal candidate will already have 1+ year’s experience in a similar Field Application Scientist/Specialist position working for companies such as Bio-techne, Illumina, Luminex, Berkeley Lights, Meso Scale Diagnostics, Perkin Elmer or Miltenyi Biotec
  • Ideally you will have a PhD in a Life Sciences subject and have practical laboratory experience in one or more of the following scientific areas/techniques: Proteomics, Immunotherapy, Biomarker Discovery, Flow Cytometry, PCR, Cell & Molecular Biology, Protein Expression, Cancer Immunology, Cell & Gene Therapy, Immuno-oncology

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meeting short-notice deadlines, with daily reprioritisation of work

The role of the Field Application Scientist:

  • Support customers, vendors, and business partners on education and training of my client’s disruptive single cell functional proteomics systems and associated reagents and consumables
  • Partner with a range of academic, biopharma/ pharmaceutical and laboratory research customers to ensure they are optimally using the company’s protocols and products
  • Collect data and assist with the Marketing/Communication team with the development of marketing materials
  • Communicate all relevant customer information including product and/or customer experience or opportunities to Field Sales, Marketing, Internal Consulting Group and Technical Support, including keeping the CRM up to date with customer information and interactions
  • Actively pursue tasks/projects, and ways to enhance your team and the business beyond your day-to-day responsibilities

The requirements of the Service Engineer:

  • You will have commercial experience working as a Service Engineer / Maintenance/ Calibration/ Repairs Technician (preferably field based) - servicing, fault finding, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing Weighing/ Precision Weighing, Industrial Scales, Measurements Instruments or any general laboratory equipment such as Balances, Flow Cytometry, Metrology, Laboratory Analysers or similar

  • Commission and installation of new Precision Weighing / Measurements equipment in line with customer requirements
  • Provide first class preventative maintenance on site
  • Respond promptly to all customer breakdowns and perform first time fix
  • Complete all routine documentation for each customer visit within 24 hours of every job
  • Provide risk assessment and method statement where applicable
  • Work to ISO9001-2000, GWP and GxP procedures etc
  • Take responsibility for highlighting any additional training or tools needed in order to carry out the work to the best of your ability
  • Actively demonstrate support of other areas/departments within the company to promote team spirit
  • Proactively own customer care and satisfaction within your own role and responsibilities
  • Manage own vehicle stock (parts, tools, consumables) and make required adjustments at least monthly: Including stock management documentation
  • Manage own time effectively to include identifying to schedulers if you have finished a task and are available for other work
