The requirements of the Technical Sales Specialist:

  • The ideal candidate will already have 1+ years of experience either in an Inside or Field based sales role in the life sciences sector
  • Ideally you will have experience of selling either instrumentation or consumables/reagent-based products in areas such as: Proteomics, Genomics, NGS, Microfluidics, Immunotherapy, Molecular Biology, Cell Imaging, Protein Expression, Cell Culture, Cancer Immunology, Cell & Gene Therapy, or similar products
  • You could also have experience in a Field Applications or Technical Support role in the life sciences sector with the drive to succeed in a technical sales role
  • Hold a minimum of a BSc degree in a scientific/ biological subject (e.g., Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry)
  • Good working knowledge of CRM systems and proficient in PC software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), able to run basic technical software presentations
  • Full and valid driving licence and passport for international travel as and when required


The role of Technical Sales Specialist:

  • Your primary focus will be to utilise your scientific background to consultatively sell my clients specialist assays, panels and microfluidic chip technology which go hand in hand with their instrument technology to key influencers and decision makers across the Proteomics, Immuno Therapy and Cancer Immunology areas
  • Attend conferences, acquire strategic knowledge, and maintain customer relationships with a range of leading pharmaceutical companies, Academics and Research Laboratories across the USA & internationally and research into new market trends, funding, trials, and publications to identify new key contacts
  • Manage time and resources effectively, execute sales process, prioritise work, maintain detailed CRM entries, attend weekly review TC and regular training/product updates
  • Research (funding, trials, publications etc.) to identify new key contacts
  • Ability to handle detail, multiple tasks, and short-notice deadlines, with daily reprioritisation of work

The requirements of the Sales Specialist:

  • You will already have a minimum of 3 years sales experience ideally selling capital equipment or consumables in areas such as Single Cell Proteomics, Genomics, Cell Imaging, Immuno-Oncology, Cell Culture, Cancer Immunology, Cell & Gene Therapy, Molecular Biology, or similar scientific field
  • You will have established relationships on territory with customers in the Life Sciences Academic, Biopharma and Pharmaceutical industry
  • You will also have a Hunter style sales approach and be able to open doors & close sales
  • Hold a minimum of a BSc degree in a scientific/ biological subject (e.g., Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry).  Immunology background/experience is a strong plus. A willingness to learn the science applicable to the Proteomics portfolio
  • Good working knowledge of CRM systems and proficient in PC software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), able to run basic technical software presentations
  • You will speak fluent or professional level English and hold a full and ideally clean drivers licence and valid passport 


The role of the Sales Specialist:

  • You will be responsible for selling high value and complex instruments in the field of Single Cell Proteomics, and Immune Medicine, supporting research areas such as Cancer Immunology, Infectious Disease and Vaccines, Cellular and Regenerative Medicine, Oncology, Inflammation and Neurology
  • Identify and develop new opportunities with a focus on key influencers and decision makers in Research, Translational Institutes and Biopharma accounts
  • Attend conferences, acquire strategic knowledge, and maintain customer relationships with a range of leading pharmaceutical companies, Academics and Research Laboratories across Europe and research into new market trends, funding, trials, and publications to identify new key contacts
  • Ability to handle detail, multiple tasks, and short-notice deadlines, with daily reprioritisation of work

You could be Based anywhere in the UK, but have to be willing to travel into Cambridge 2-3 times per year for sales meetings

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of a fast growing employee owned Life Sciences company with opportunities to progress in a variety of other roles

Day-to-Day duties of the role – training will also be provided on the below:

  • Responding to information and quote requests quickly
  • Contacting potential new customers including Biotech, Research, Academia, Water, Utilities and many other industries to promote the companies products and services which include Laboratory Equipment, Consumables, Reagents, PPE/ Workwear, including Pipettes/ Tips, Beakers, Flasks and other Plasticware
  • Managing the opportunities pipeline to improve conversion rates and supporting the Business Development and Key accounts team
  • Provide quotations to customers in your accounts, maintain or improve margins
  • Be aware of all web orders in order to identify new customers and pass them to the Business Development Manager
  • Respond to customers in a variety of ways including calls, emails and online chat
  • Add options for maintenance or service on all quotes where you can service the item
  • Working from an identified list contacting customers pre and post sales
  • Work with the sales team to prospect for new business in those accounts
  • Help with customer issues in your accounts and identify unusual customer requirements (quantities) and work with the supply chain manager to negotiate improved prices prior to quoting

The requirements:

  • In order to be considered for the position you must hold a Scientific based degree, for example Biological / Life Sciences, Environmental Science or Analytical Chemistry
  • As well as a science degree you will also have B2B Sales or Customer Service experience, could be based from home, in an office environment or in the field
  • It would be beneficial, but not essential if you had experience working with SAP (this is only a desirable)
  • Willingness to travel down to our clients offices (approx 2-3 times per year) in Cambridge
  • Our client is looking for someone who is a posotive person, team player and someone that can show good initiative – although support is always available where needed

Salary and benefits:

  • Basic Salary: £22,000 – £24,000

The requirements of the Field Service Engineer:

  • The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of hands on experience troubleshooting and maintaining GC-MS systems (Ideally Agilent GC-MS) in a client facing Analyst, Chemist or Scientist role

  • Meet with customers to present and demonstrate my clients’ Liquid products and communicate proposals to customer needs and use negotiation skills to achieve a successful sale
  • Create and maintain records within the internal CRM system to assist with customer contact traceability, initiating proposals and customer specific information
  • To present and contribute to internal and external meetings
  • Prepare information as needed for customer meetings and discussions with management
  • Respond to customer enquiries promptly, liaising with internal support to assist where necessary
