The requirements of the Laboratory Support Associate role:

  • You will have a proven track record of successfully managing laboratory based services in Life Sciences/Biotech/Pharma/Research environments as a Laboratory Services Coordinator, Laboratory Services Associate, Scientist, Laboratory Technician or similar role
  • Fluency with EH&S compliance and crisis management practices (an EH&S qualification such as NEBOSH would be desirable)
  • A team player who understands the value of cooperative and collaborative work environment
  • A professional demeanor and effective communicator at all levels
  • Solutions focused mindset with strong problem-solving skills

The Laboratory Support Associate role supports laboratory operations and office services to include;

Laboratory Operations:

  • Conducting regular lab walkthroughs, identifying safety, security, operational inefficiencies, and other area of improvements
  • Managing inventory in all on-site storage rooms (including lab equipment/supplies, lab casework, office furniture and supplies)
  • General lab tasks to support the daily lab functions
  • Lab Porterage
  • Facilitate waste management
  • Cleaning of lab equipment
  • Vendor Managed Inventory & Consumables stock control
  • Glass wash, Lab autoclave and sterilisation operations under direction of client processes

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Coordination with security for access control, cctv and adherence to company security requirements
  • Compliance with company compliance policies, health and safety campaigns and audits
  • Creating and reviewing risk assessments, reviewing, and updating COSHH documents relating to our client’s laboratory services
  • Provide support for move to new office and lab space
  • Other associated tasks as directed by line management

The requirements of the Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Planner:

The role of the Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Planner:

  • Manage the incoming requests and queries in the general mailbox and act as the first contact for laboratory and service teams
  • Plan preventive maintenance and calibrations to avoid overdue work orders
  • Plan repair requests and cooperates with Labs, and vendors to ensure short downtimes
  • Where necessary creating work permits and hosting and training of external Vendors
  • Cooperates with external suppliers on improvements, updates etc. and communities these proactively with the equipment owners.
  • Responsible for coordinating and follow-up of breakdowns and planned maintenance with equipment owners. SAP is used to register notifications and order completions
  • Records calibration results in SAP
  • Evaluates maintenance reports of solved breakdowns, reported in SAP, and shares conclusions with system owners and advises next steps where necessary. Evaluates equipment, technologies and systems taking costs, benefits, and reliability into account. Review service reports + investigate technical defects/issues
  • Contributes to a safe and healthy workplace in line with EHS&S procedures.
  • Setting up the yearly overview of equipment for 3rd party contracts with their entitlements

Field Service Engineer - Chromatography, Spectroscopy & Electron Microscopy:

  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to customers and colleagues regards the Service, Maintenance and Repair of high technology measurement and analysis equipment
  • Work within the assigned territory to ensure maximum Service levels to all types of customers including Universities, Research Institutes, Industrial, Electronics, Biotech & Pharmaceutical companies, etc
  • Liaise with customers in person, via telephone or email to answer technical performance questions, arrange visits or specify and supply spare parts or replacement components.

  • 3+ years of experience maintaining, calibrating troubleshooting, and repairing either or a mix of Chromatography instruments (HPLC, GC, LC systems), Spectroscopy (FTIR, UV/VIS, UV, FL, Pol, CD), Electron Microscopy, Interferometry
  • Awareness and/or experience with: Ion Milling, Plasma Cleaning, Sample Preparation, XRD, X-Ray Spectroscopy, EDX, ED is an advantage
  • Excellent inter-personal, self-motivational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities

Due to ongoing success and high demand, they are now seeking a Senior Formulation Chemist, a proven cosmetics formulator who is passionate and a step ahead of the curve in terms of new trends and product formulation. Our client has a full library of formulations yet needs a Senior Cosmetics Chemist who can bring new ideas and great formulations experience and lead, mentor and supervise a team of 3 graduate formulation chemists on site. As well as managing the team they will need to undertake formulations themselves, leading from the front and teaching formulation in-house by example.

If you have 5 + years’ experience of colour cosmetics or cosmetics or skincare or bath or body or fragrance or home fragrance formulation in a fast paced, fashion/trend led manufacturer – either private label or own label experience then we’d love you to apply right now. Ideally you will have advanced skincare – SPF, lip care and colour cosmetics formulation experience for mass manufacturer but this is not essential. 5 years of formulation across categories in cosmetics is a must.   • Experience working in a GMP environment is a must  
  • You will be educated in either a life science/chemistry or engineering subject  
  • Must hold a full UK driving license & valid passport with the ability to travel both in the UK to the Nordic region each month
  • Experience of effective verbal communication skills in a customer facing or customer service environment, with excellent telephone manner

The responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer - Chromatography & Dissolution Testing Equipment:

  • Travel to customer sites to deliver routine planned maintenance and breakdown support in line with my client’s service plans
  • To refurbish and validate equipment for the refurbished instrument program in line with SOPs at my clients UK facility
  • To identify new customers or new market segments that could become long term accounts
  • To build and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers to allow continuation of business and win incremental business
  • Perform onsite duties including, service, validation, repair, accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Complete and submit all paperwork to the admin team
  • Build and maintains relationship with existing and new customers
  • Promote the company’s brand and range of services where applicable
  • Manage and be accountable for stock allocated to the service call
  • Provide remote support via phone and email to customers where requested
  • Maintain knowledge of the products and services
