Technical Sales Consultant – Northern Italy

Location: Milan, Italy (home office based)

The Requirements:

  • As the Technical Sales Consultant you must have 2+ Years of experience within a: Area Sales Manager, Sales Representative, Account Manager, Territory Manager or similar role working in the Life Sciences reagents/ Laboratory Consumables industry, ideally you will be selling Immunology or Cell Biology products or additionally you could be selling Molecular Biology / Reagents, Assays, Arrays, ELISA or Western Blotting, Luminex, Antigen Quantification OR you could be based in the laboratory currently using the above techniques, and you will be someone that wants to change your career path into a rewarding sales career
  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, a Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or Molecular Biology background would be beneficial, or Luminex, Cell and Gene Therapy knowledge in order to be technically strong within the Technical Sales Consultant role
  • With the role being based in 80% in Milan, Italy and within the outskirts of this city you will be living here in order to cover the accounts effectively as the Technical Sales Consultant
  • You will hold a full driving licence in order to be considered as this is a home/ field-based position

The Responsibilities:

  • Selling biological reagents (Assays, Arrays, ELISA or Western Blotting, Luminex, Antigen Quantification) to the Life Science Industry (Academia and Hospitals), acquiring new business and growing existing sales within the defined territory
  • Concentrating on the key accounts within the territory to maximise all potential business opportunities
  • Build the customer database in the defined territory, introduce and sell products to customers
  • To handle commercial issues arising e.g. Negotiations, tenders, etc. In conjunction with management and attend scientific exhibitions
  • Provide technical advice to customers where necessary, this will be a highly consultative sales role so you will be using your previous research skills to relate to the customers (dealing with Scientists/ researchers all the way through to principal investigators)
  • Feedback to Management and the internal sales team on the sales area, successes and difficulties of implementing your sales strategy, competition and the state of the market via regular sales reports, and through the CRM system
