Technical Account Manager

Salary Circa: £20,000 – £35,000 DOE + Yearly Bonus + Fully Expensed Company Car + Pension (5% company contribution) + Private Healthcare + Subsidised Gym Membership + Critical Illness/Group Income Protection Cover + 25 Days Annual Leave + 8 Bank Holidays

Location: office based in Aylesbury with weekly travel throughout the UK

The Requirements of Technical Account Manager:

  • You will already have 1+ years of experience in a B2B Sales/Account Manager/Business Development role which can be in any industry
  • It would be an advantage if you have existing Sales/Account Management experience in the Life Sciences, Chemical, Pharmaceutical or Personal Care/Cosmetics sector
  • You must be educated to at least BSc level in either a Life Sciences or Chemistry/Analytical sciences subject such as: Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Pharmacology or very similar
  • You must be highly motivated to combine your strong scientific knowledge with existing sales/commercial experience
  • The ability to learn and understand new technologies
  • A scientific approach to problem solving
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence
  • The ability and aspiration to travel
  • Flexible and customer service orientated
  • Thorough, organised and autonomous
  • A clear and concise communicator

The Role of Technical Account Manager:

  • Developing strong technical understanding of their wide range of Personal Care ingredients, their chemistry, benefits and formulation characteristics
  • Understanding the needs of each of the customers
  • Communicating scientific information clearly and concisely
  • Supporting customers throughout their development process, from concept to product launch
  • Visiting UK customers to develop long-term working relationships with their R&D, Purchasing and Marketing teams
  • Helping the Technical Development Chemists to create new Personal Care formulations that demonstrate the benefits of our products
  • Identifying new business opportunities for Aston Chemicals
  • Attending relevant Cosmetic and Toiletry industry meetings, seminars, exhibitions and symposia to increase knowledge of the Personal Care industry
