The requirements of the Sales Specialist:

  • You will have commercial experience working as a Sales Representative / Specialist, Account Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Area Manager or in a similar role selling any Life Sciences or Chemistry / Analytical Products such as HPLC / Chromatography, Mass Spec or Biological Laboratory Equipment, Consumables / Reagents / Media or closely related
  • Must have a good knowledge of customers on your territory which could include Pharma/ Biotech, Chemical, Food & Beverage or Fragrance/ Cosmetics Research customers
  • A full UK valid driving license is required with the ability to travel across the specific territory as listed above
  • It would be beneficial if you have a Scientific or Chemistry based degree (or some lab-based experience) but this is not essential

The responsibilities:

  • Successfully positioning the value of Laboratory Weighing & pH instruments, and consumables to customers leading to the successful development of opportunities through to sales
  • Qualify, target and engage defined high potential Biotech/ R&D, Pharma, Chemical and Food & Beverage accounts and market segments to develop business by aligning with the accounts strategic programs and building sustainable relationships with key stakeholders across the territory which includes London, Cambridge, Milton Keynes, Hatfield, Enfield, Milton Keynes and Norwich
  • Use this knowledge and account development strategies to develop an actionable account penetration plan
  • Follow up on marketing and cross selling leads whilst also uncovering and nurturing your own self-generated leads
  • Develop a technical ability on weighing and pH instruments
  • Successful use of available sales tools to engage and enter an account
  • Effectively manage a sales pipeline and with clear communication through defined reporting, to the organisation about the status of and next action required to successfully develop opportunities through to sales
  • Proactively collaborate with peers across the Laboratory Division and wider organisation, to uncover leads and develop opportunities in the most efficient way
  • Proactively plan your time to ensure customer facing activities related to opportunity development are prioritised and maximised
