Responsibilities of the Field Applications Scientist:

  • Based from your home office in Germany you will work hand in hand with customers across the DACH region to assist in the design and support of their integrated robotic solutions
  • Contribute in the design of work cell systems, develop methods and conduct timing studies of workflows for new sales and existing customer needs
  • Provide on-site support and assist in sales demonstrations and proposal submissions
  • You will act as a subject matter expert for liquid handling automation and integrated systems and will support sales by providing in depth product training
  • Contribute in the design of work cell systems, develop methods and conduct timing studies of workflows for new sales and existing customer needs
  • Work closely with all cross-functional project leads and managers to ensure efficient scientific support of an Integrations project from initial pre-sales through to customer installation and acceptance
  • Translate methods for customer applications into checklist for Integrations Acceptance Test Approval Documents
  • Assist as needed for generation of posters, white papers, marketing product datasheets and other documentation
  • Assist in the continual improvement of my client’s software through feedback

Requirements of the Field Applications Scientist:

  • You will have at least 1 years of successful Field Applications experience in which you have been directly supporting customers high value and complex laboratory automation solutions and software to include Robotics and/or Liquid Handling systems
  • You could also be an experienced Research Scientist (5+ years’ experience) and have extensive hands on experience using and supporting Laboratory Automation/Liquid Handling platforms in a Genomics, HTS, Drug Discovery/Development or very similar environment
  • Experience with programming/scripting languages preferred
  • You will have a minimum bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Molecular and/or Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology or similar
  • Knowledgeable within Drug Discovery, High-Throughput, Genotyping, siRNA, Next Generation Sequencing, Sample Prep, Biorepository Science, Genomics, Proteomics, HTS
  • Fluency in both written and oral English & German
  • You must have a valid EU driving licence
  • A self-starter, able to work effectively both as a team member and individually
  • Ability to travel (including internationally) 40% – 60% of the time
  • Excellent communication skills – written and oral
