Engineering Planner

Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience) + Full Blue-Chip Company Benefits including Healthcare, Pension + 25 days holiday plus stats + excellent facilities on site which includes a restaurant and gym

Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire

The Requirements of Engineering Planner:

  • You could be working as an Engineering Coordinator, Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, Engineering Scheduler, Maintenance Scheduler, Engineering Manager for a laboratory equipment company or in a similar role planning internal or external laboratory equipment engineers OR you could be a laboratory equipment field service engineer right now working within any of the below industries planning your own visits/ managing your own diary
  • As part of your role you would ideally have experience using SAP (Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing)
  • Ideally you will have experience working as a Maintenance/ Planning Engineer/ Manager within a laboratory equipment company that undertakes planning and preventative maintenance in one of the following or closely related industries: Automation, Robotics, Laboratory Equipment, Chromatography, Spectroscopy, Analytical Equipment, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices/ Diagnostics or Chemicals
  • Based in a commutable distance to the Macclesfield area

The Role:

  • Plan the repair and maintenance of internally and externally supported laboratory assets
  • Liaise with the customers regarding the planned and preventative laboratory equipment services required for the efficient installation, maintenance, relocation, decommission and support of instrumentation assets including the logging of any work orders
  • Act as a first point of contact for all third-party contractors arriving at site, ensuring that they have a valid EHS, and GxP induction/ security screening prior to commencement of work, and ensure all compliant documentation including, but not limited to, engineering service reports are stored and filed according to GxP and GDP practices – using SAP on a daily basis making sure everything is fully up-to-date (as this could be audited at any time)
  • Review risk Assessments and Method Statements prior to work commencing in area/job in which they are working, and ensuring Health and Safety compliance
  • Ensure valid purchase order is in place in conjunction with prior to commencement of non-contract work, and that all third-Party contractors are managed in line with our procedures
  • Assisting in the preparation for audits and assist in the retrieval of relevant laboratory equipment maintenance documentation for inspection purposes
  • Keep end users apprised of work order status and act as on-site lead for the timely escalation of service request issues
  • Review and update records to ensure they accurately reflect status of equipment; where changes effect GxP equipment ensures compliant procedures have been followed
  • Ensuring all assets required to be sent away for calibration are collected, packaged, sent off site and returned to site in a controlled manner
  • Assist in providing site coverage during core hours for support to client staff and for the safety of visiting engineers to site
