Electronic Engineer

Salary circa: £30,000 – £40,000 DOE + 5% annual bonus + Pension + Private Healthcare + Life Insurance + 25 days holidays + 8 bank holidays + Much more!

Location: Runcorn (site based)

The requirements of the Electronic Engineer:

  • To be considered for the Electronic Engineer role you must have at least 4 years (ideally 5+) experience working as a Electronic Engineer, Electronics Design Engineer, Electronic Project Engineer or related
  • Ideally you will have current experience working for a life sciences or medical devices company/product area however this is not essential
  • It is essential however that you are working in a manufacturing industry such as Automotive, Food & Beverage, Metals, Energy, Oil & Gas or similar
  • You will have a Degree (or equivalent qualification) in electronic engineering or similar
  • Strong technical and analytical skills
  • Significant experience of engineering design-support including electronics CAD experience e.g. Cableform CAD, Schematic capture
  • Design experience of working to standards and approvals
  • Current working knowledge of a range of PCB and semiconductor technologies
  • Familiarity with typical system design lifecycle and V&V activities

The role of the Electronic Engineer:

  • As the Electronic Engineer you will Support/maintain/redesign existing products within the Anatomical Pathology division using good engineering practice and regulatory standards
  • Perform the work required on electronics-related engineering changes on existing products, including CAD updates, Schematic capture and layout of circuit designs in order to maintain production designs
  • Produce engineering change specs to define change details for ECOs
  • Support the maintenance of CSA/UL/MET/INTERTEC/EMC/ RoHS or other approvals on existing products, work with the certification agencies, provide the correct data and coordinate the supply of any samples required
  • Find fit / function equivalents for electrical and electronics-related parts that become obsolete, including obsolescence due to RoHS or other directives and regulations
  • Provide prompt technical support as required for all production lines
  • Verify and amend Test procedures for existing products
  • Design, build and document safe test rigs for production use or suppliers, including testing of PCBAs and harnesses
  • Assist in the transfer of PCB and cable assemblies from one supplier to another, ensuring that there is no loss in production by providing technical support during the process and ensuring that adequate production testing is provided for each assembly • Provide information and advice for inclusion in Operating Manuals, Service Manuals, Sales literature and Training materials
