Business Development Manager – Health & Beauty National Account

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE) + Profit Share Scheme + Free Parking + Discount on Products + 20 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays + Opportunity to account manage one of the UK’s largest health & beauty retailers

Office Based: Peterborough

The Requirements:

• As the Business Development Manager you will need to have an understanding of key account management as well as exposure to contract manufacturing and the processes involved (critical path management)

• Dynamic self-starter and motivator committed to providing an exceptional customer service in a very fast paced environment, having the ability to multi-task and having impeccable forward planning and organisational skills

• You will need to possess a proven track record at building and maintaining relationships with key accounts, retailers or grocers

• Demonstrate outstanding business acumen and a track record of Account Management and proven history of achieving sales targets, meeting deadlines and being driven to succeed

• Travelling out to customers and meeting with them nationwide to assess their needs

• To be successful in post as the Business Development Manager you will need to have a natural affinity with the Health & Beauty sector and prove that you are passionate about products and the industry!

• Able to communicate with people at all levels from factory floor through to key stakeholders in multiple retailers

The Role of Business Development Manager:

• Reporting to the Commercial Manager and the Marketing Director your main responsibility will be expand the company’s product portfolio through the key account you are looking after, up-selling where possible as well as managing the existing established relationships

• You will be responsible for winning business with the multi-national retailer for all categories such as home fragrance, hard soaps, bath & body, hair care, pet care, male grooming, candles liquid fillings

• Receiving briefs from customers and analysing that brief to figure out whether it would be commercially equitable for both parties, if not using your knowledge to document why it wouldn’t be successful and using accurate documentation to present that to the customer and working on a solution together

• Managing the key account interface with retail customer buyers, technical & product managers, supply teams. Interruption of customer briefs/tenders

• Forming strong relationships with established customer teams and also adding value in identifying new product/category opportunities.

• Full product profit and loss management: Product Costing, price negotiation &product cost engineering

• Carrying out sales forecasting and stock management responsibility

• Responsible for generation, preparation and presentation of new product concepts to customer. This includes product rationales, product positioning, competitive gap analysis, and price architecture definition

• Managing 1 direct report
