Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 + £5,000 – £10,000 OTE (Uncapped) + Laptop + iPhone + iPad + Company Car (Mercedes C Class or similar) + Pension + 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays

Territory: South East England (Cambridge, Oxford, London etc)

Home Based: Ideally within a 1 hour commute from Cambridge

The Requirements of the UK Field Sales Manager:

  • A minimum of a BSc Degree within a Chemistry discipline ideally Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Engineering etc
  • A minimum of 5 year’s proven field sales experience in the laboratory industry, ideally in the chemistry market (academic, pharmaceutical, biotech, agrochemical, government, medical research institutes, fine chemical and chemical accounts)
  • Ideally you will have current/previous experience of field sales management/mentoring sales team members however this is not essential
  • Technical and commercial knowledge of the market for products in medicinal, process and organic chemistry
  • Experience of capital equipment and instrument sales
  • Fully computer literate with Microsoft Office
  • Be willing to stay away from home for work on occasions. Not often but as and when the situation may arise
  • Have a full valid UK driving licence and valid passport

The Role of the UK Field Sales Manager:

  • As the UK Field Sales Manager, you will develop and maintain profitable sales within your sales territory – London and SE (approx. 70% of the role)
  • Line management, support and monitoring of the UK Field Sales Team which is currently a team of 4 (approx. 30% of the role)
  • Develop and maintain profitable sales within the UK
  • Demonstrating equipment on customer sites
  • Organising and attending onsite mini-exhibitions
  • Maintaining accurate records in the company’s ACT CRM Database
  • Supporting our marketing team as necessary with activity related to your territory

  • Well established & employing 50 employees my client is an independent leader whom manufacture scientific glassware and laboratory instruments for their customers who include leading blue-chip industrial and academic research facilities around the world
  • With an annual turnover last year of £7.7 million their products and technology are centred on the research chemistry market with a focus on equipment for chemical synthesis, process development, work-up and evaporation
  • This includes Stirrers & Shakers, Benchtop & Hotplate tools & Jacketed Reaction Systems to name just a few
