Technical Service Engineer – Mass Spectrometry

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience + £3,500 Bonus + £450 – £550 Car Allowance per month + Mobile Phone + Laptop + 20 Days Holiday + 8 Days Bank holiday + Christmas shutdown + 6% Matched Pension Scheme + Private Healthcare + Expenses Paid Monthly

Location: Client based on the M6 Corridor but UK Wide (You could be based anywhere across the UK)

The Requirements of the Technical Service Engineer:

  • As the Technical Service Engineer, you must be working as a Maintenance, Install, Repair, Calibration Technical/ Service Engineer, on-site or Laboratory based Engineer specifically covering the Waters product range in particular Xevo TQ-GC – Liquid Chromatography and Mass Spectroscopy – and must be servicing machines by Waters (such as the: Xevo TQ-GC , BioAccord LC-MS System for Biopharmaceuticals, BioResolve RP mAb Polyphenyl Columns
  • You will be educated with a BSc in a Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, In-Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Physics based degree as the Technical Service Engineer or have equivalent experience
  • Must hold a Full UK driving licence

The Responsibilities of the Technical Service Engineer:

  • Within the Technical Service Engineer role, you will carry out repair, calibration and service of equipment such as: LC-MS (liquid chromatography, mass spectroscopy) Waters (such as the: Xevo TQ-GC , BioAccord LC-MS System for Biopharmaceuticals, BioResolve RP mAb Polyphenyl Columns
  • Other Mass Spec could include; AB Sciex: Exion LC, M5 Microflow, Nano LC 400, CESI 800 Plus, QTRAP, QTOF Systems, X500B, X500R and the TripleTOF 5600/ 6600 to name a few
  • Perform preventative maintenance and service to contract schedules, whilst carrying out on site installation and operational qualification to manufacturer’s protocols, provision of effective & efficient service support to customers, in line with the given deadlines as the Technical Service Engineer
  • To fault find and resolve issues to customer expectations, working autonomously to complete tasks and build/ maintain strong customer relationships with universities (90% of customer base), CRO’s and Pharmaceutical companies
  • Refurbish and validate equipment for the refurbished instrument, identify new customers or market segments that could become a future account
