Technical Sales Representative – Oxford & London

Salary: Negotiable DOE + Monthly Commission + Pension + £500 Car Allowance Per Month + 20 Holiday Days per year + 8 Bank Holidays + Mobile Phone + Laptop + Oyster Card for Travel

Territory: London, Oxford and surrounding areas

Ideal Home Location: West London, Oxfordshire, Reading areas

The requirements of the Technical Sales Representative:

  • To be considered for this position you will have either existing life sciences field sales experience (1+ years) selling technical scientific research equipment into Academia, Biotech or Pharmaceutical sectors OR you will be a MSc or PhD Research Scientist, Research Assistant, Senior Scientist, Postdoc Research Scientist who is highly motivated to move into a scientific sales role
  • Right now, you will be selling OR will have extensive experience in a laboratory environment using equipment in areas such as: Electrophoresis, PCR, Cell Imaging, Cell Counting, Molecular Imaging, NGS, Microarray, DNA Documentation, Electron Microscopy or similar areas
  • You must be educated to either a MSc or PhD level in one of the following areas: Cell Biology (preferred), Molecular Biology, Immunology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Cancer Biology or very closely related area
  • You will have a consultative sales approach and be able to have high level scientific discussions with customers
  • You must have a Full UK driving license and be fully able to travel throughout the territory and other areas as required
  • Excellent communication skills are required with the ability to express information in a clear and concise manner
  • Be Self-motivated and comfortable working with little to no direction

The role of the Technical Sales Representative:

  • Managing the Oxford & London territory you will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, following up on potential leads and establishing contact with existing customers in both Academia & Biotech sectors
  • You will also monitor technology trends in order to identify emerging scientific markets and potential new products for distribution in order to expand revenue
  • Collaborate with the management team to improve marketing materials and expand the company’s marketing presence in London & Oxford
  • Attend industry trade shows to accumulate new leads and make productive contact with existing clients
  • Update client information in the company contact database
  • Stay on top of industry trends to identify potential opportunities for company growth
