Sales Manager – Municipal Sector

Salary: Negotiable (DOE) + Commission (20% of Basic Salary) + Car Allowance / Company Car + Pension Scheme + Healthcare + Mobile Phone + Laptop

Territory: South UK

The Requirements of the Sales Manager:

  • To be considered for the Sales Manager role you will already have 2+ years’ experience in a Business Development, Account Manager, Technical Sales role selling water and/or wastewater products and services into the Municipal market
  • A strategic understanding of the water industry, business plans and regulatory market conditions would be an advantage
  • Sales experience within the market is not critical, although your personal attributes will need to demonstrate that you are someone who will drive the business forward selling water and wastewater products and services into the Municipal market
  • Educated in a Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Technical, Business/Commercial degree or similar or qualified by experience
  • Full UK driver’s licence & valid UK Passport is required
  • You will be a highly organised, enthusiastic and very self-motivated salesperson that takes pride in the services you provide and the industry you work in
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills, able to engage people in our technologies, products and services
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider business
  • Ability to successfully negotiate and close a deal

The Responsibilities of the Sales Manager:

  • As the Sales Manager, you will be responsible for selling products and services to the Municipal water/wastewater market within the South of England
  • Your drive and enthusiasm will deliver new business growth in defined areas, offering insight data to customers to engage them in our products and services
  • You will plan daily sales activities, marketing initiatives and update the company’s CRM system
  • Building and maintaining strong internal and external customer relationships
  • Ensuring sufficient sales activity, territory coverage and future prospect development to achieve individual set financial targets
  • Working closely with the marketing teams, developing growth targets and appropriate activities
  • Tracking, monitoring and measuring marketing and promotional activities
  • Understanding customer needs, presenting solutions and creation of proposals, with the delivery of added value to the customer central to the offering
  • Maintaining good knowledge of competitor strategy and activity to identify new areas of business growth; offering insight data to support negotiation and overcome objections
  • Providing excellent service to the customer ensuring they are kept up to date with all progress
  • Provide a strong after sales support service to the customer to ensure longevity of the relationship
  • Attend and participate as a representative of the company at regional water Industry conferences and trade shows as appropriate
  • Coordinate with all other UK teams as required, sharing best practices and insight
