Quality Assurance Technician

Salary: Negotiable DOE + Pension (7%) + 25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays + Childcare Voucher

Location: Site based in Doncaster

The Requirements of the Quality Assurance Technician:

  • Hold a Scientific qualification such as a BSc/HND in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biomedical Science or similar
  • Previous experience within a Quality role such as QA Technician, QA Assistant or a Laboratory Technician, Scientific Assistant etc. within which you conducted Internal Audits
  • Hold a level 3 HACCP Certificate
  • Have a good understanding of factory processes, HACCP, Quality Systems and microbiology.
  • Previous experience conducting internal audits
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to be able to communicate well at all levels
  • Competent at analysing data
  • Be self-motivated and driven
  • Must be able to work using own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Must be able to pull information from various sources, analyse and make decisions based on own judgment
  • Be able to prioritise workloads
  • Ability to identify when issues need to be escalated as appropriate in the best interests of the business
  • Able to be flexible when required

The Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician:

Your duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • To develop Quality and Quality systems and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation relating to product safety and legality in conjunction with the Group Quality Manager
  • Ensure Internal Audits are carried out to schedule and ensure that any non-compliances and customer complaints are correctly investigated and followed up
  • Develop and implement relevant GMP and Hygiene standards
  • Achieve and maintain customer approval and any relevant accreditation standards and highlight the correct training requirements with regard to Quality
  • Ensure Raw Material, Process Control and Finished Product Specifications are up to date in conjunction with the Group Quality Team and analytical and micro summaries are maintained and supplied to relevant personnel
