Laboratory Technician – Cell Culture (Part Time – 0.6 FTE)

Salary: Pro Rata –  £12,000 Per Year + Free Parking + Pension + 22 Days Holiday + Stats + Christmas/New Year Shutdown

Location: Milton Keynes

The Requirements of the Laboratory Technician:

  • To be successful in the role of Laboratory Technician you must have a degree within a Life Science discipline such as Molecular Biology, Biomedical Science, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Biological Science, Microbiology, Molecular Medicine
  • As a minimum you must have 3 years of laboratory experience post graduation working in a Cell Culture/Cell Biology laboratory environment performing Cell Culture techniques as a Laboratory Technician or Laboratory Assistant currently
  • You will have knowledge and practical experience of processes & techniques such as Angiogenesis and also Mammalian Cell Culture
  • Experience working with Primary Cells as opposed to Cell Lines would be a distinct advantage
  • Experience of also using the Incucyte cell culture scanner would also be an advantage however not an essential
  • Ability to manage, prioritise and deal with many separate issues at one time
  • Strong attention to detail & the ability to work well independently and as part of a team is vital

The Role of the Laboratory Technician:

  • Within the role of Laboratory Technician you will have responsibility for all aspects of management of the cell biology laboratory including all housekeeping jobs
  • Responsibility for cell biology manufacturing including: Manufacturing to meet customer requirements is a priority over all other tasks or responsibilities
  • Planning and scheduling manufacturing in line with corporate and customer requirements
  • When exceptional order demand is received the CEO or COO must be consulted to ensure additional manpower resources are made available. Delays in manufacturing due to lack of planning or resources are not acceptable
  • Manufacture and quality control testing of manufactured products in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System and ISO13485, including the completion of quality records
  • Writing and updating SOP’s relative to your area of responsibility
  • Assist in the response to technical enquiries and queries resulting from manufactured products
  • Assist in product development including: Attendance of Product Development Meetings, Input into product design and performance & writing experimental plans and reports
  • Assist in report writing for research, product development and validation experiments
  • Incoming and outgoing communication with customers
