Key Account Manager – Pharmaceuticals (Cambridge)

Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + 25% OTE (Uncapped) + Fully Expensed Company Car + Up To 8% Matched Pension + Full Private Healthcare (Discounted for Family) + Laptop + Mobile + iPad + 25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays + Buy or Sell an Extra 5 holidays + 4x Basic Salary in Life Insurance

Home Location: Cambridge or immediate surrounding areas

The Requirements of the Key Account Manager:

  • Educated to BSc level (or equivalent qualification) in a life science or chemistry-based subject
  • A minimum of 3+ years previous key account sales experience is highly desirable, particularly in the pharmaceutical, life sciences or biotechnology sector
  • An ability to network throughout a complex customer, developing multiple partnership-based relationships in a range of departments with contacts demonstrating an array of personality types.
  • Experience of successfully managing many projects/work streams simultaneously and to a defined timescale
  • Experience using a specific Project Management Methodology to deliver projects desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce accurate and punctual reports
  • Must be based within one hour of Stevenage/Cambridge and hold a full UK driving licence
  • Experience of preparing and delivering presentations to a high standard for both internal and external customers
  • Full UK driving licence

The Responsibilities of the Key Account Manager:

  • Achieve annual territory sales and gross margin targets as set by the sales manager
  • Increase competitive advantage by building strong partner relationships between my client and the key customer, developing trust through collaboration
  • Deliver on the business and customer specific strategy, growing spend in a sustainable method that shows value to the customer through innovative projects
  • Promote the Company’s products and services to a key large complex pharmaceutical company
  • Work with all areas of the organisation to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Work with colleagues at partner locations to share ‘best practice’ driving conformity across the customer sites
  • Work with preferred suppliers, to gain a competitive edge, both technically and commercially
  • Use the key business tools to help drive performance (CRM & Sales Planning Tool). CRM to be maintained and updated daily
  • Provide feedback using verbal and written reporting tools to the business on customers, competitor activity, promotions etc, to agreed timescales and in agreed format as directed by your Sales Manager
  • Use communication and influencing skills to effectively utilise internal resources and maximise time with customers
