Graduate Data Entry Administrator – Life Sciences – Cambridge (6 Month Contract)

Salary: £17,000 – £18,000 Basic Salary or Hourly Rate Pay Scheme + 25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays

Location: Office based in Over, Cambridge

The requirements of the Graduate Data Administrator:

  • To be successful in the role you will have a Life Sciences or Analytical/ Chemistry degree – e.g. Biology, Environmental Science, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry or any related field to this
  • Other qualifications or previous experience which meets the specification of the job description would be an advantage i.e. Excel, Administration/ Admin, I.T skills
  • A team player who is driven by providing efficient operations and thrives on change and constantly striving to improve things around them
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence as my client’s offices are unreachable by public transport

The role of the Graduate Data Administrator:

  • Transfer data from various formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders
  • Create spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Update existing data
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
  • Sort and organise paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Good command of English both oral and written and customer service skills
  • General administration duties
  • Liaise with line manager to keep fully informed all details of progress of daily tasks
