Global Laboratory Workplace Strategist

Salary: Negotiable (depending on experience) + Full Blue-Chip Company Benefits including Healthcare, Pension (4-7.5% matched contribution) + 3x salary life assurance + £6,600 car allowance per year + 27 days holiday plus stats

Location: UK based with up to 75% travel Nationally & Internationally

The Requirements of the Global Laboratory Workplace Strategist:

  • You will have 5+ years of experience working in a role such as International/Global Laboratory Workplace Strategist, Laboratory Workflow Consultant or directly related role in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry
  • As part of your existing & previous experience you will have had direct responsibility for design, engineering, construction, and validation of laboratory facilities in the Pharmaceutical and/or Biotechnology sectors
  • This will involve workspace consultancy, architectural planning for laboratories, property strategy and real estate & delivery management
  • You will have a consultative approach in order to successfully support & guide the client through the challenges they are facing in the context of laboratory space and workflows
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of your time both Internationally & Globally
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and effectively manage stakeholder interests in a fast-paced/dynamic organisation, and have experience with commercial numbers and strategy
  • Skilled in leadership with the ability to articulate a vision and drive desired outcomes and digitally literate with experience in harnessing technology to achieve goals
  • Ability to work effectively in high performing teams

The Role of the Global Laboratory Workplace Strategist:

  • As the trusted advisor and subject matter expert for Laboratory workplace strategy you will lead and co-ordinate all aspects of workplace strategy and deployment in relation to laboratory space Globally for a major Pharmaceutical company
  • Deliver management information, insight, and analytics on workplace laboratory performance
  • Promote, educate, and represent workplace in business decision making process in relation to laboratory space
  • Engage closely with the Central Team and Communities of Practice in relation to other related topics
  • Lead the global workplace and scientific discovery experience program integrating: Space, Equipment, Culture, Process and Technology and Service
  • Provide ‘first contact’ engagement with laboratory users and business (introduction of the change, identifying drivers, high level challenges and risks) in relation to laboratory workplace projects
  • Develop dynamic and innovative ways of engaging with laboratory users to ensure maximum impact and participation in the laboratory workplace change process
  • Ensure and facilitate excellent communication with associates, project stakeholders and team members
  • Support regional REFS leadership in managing the pipeline of laboratory change projects
  • Lead in procurement and engagement of local expert teams as required
  • Provide oversight and support to local delivery teams with hands on engagement and involvement in key projects
  • Engage with global/regional business stakeholders and corporate functions (P&O, IT and Comms) to identify strategies and risks for each of the projects
  • Monitor and report critical risks and issues to the CPS and RES head of Region
  • Contribute to continuous improvement programs, identifying and implementing cost savings and business improvement opportunities
