The requirements of the EMEA Sales Director:

  • As a minimum you will have 1+ years sales management experience or exceptional sales track record (10+ years) with clear leadership skills in the life sciences/biotechnology sector
  • Strong understanding of proteomic and genomic marketplace – including understanding of cell analysis systems (flow cytometry, imaging, single cell genomics) is preferred
  • Consumables selling experience preferred but not necessary
  • Ideally you will have a Life Sciences degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) and/or MBA a plus
  • Experience in working with executives in “C” suite a plus
  • Track record building a successful sales region or territory
  • Excellent interpersonal and persuasive communications abilities
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience in driving sales in large complex accounts and with decision makers at all levels
  • Ability to drive and travel throughout various EMEA countries/regions
  • Must hold a valid UK or EU driving licence and passport

The role of EMEA Sales Director:

  • Responsible for achieving the sales budget and the commercial success in the associated region within our EMEA region while assuring the development and execution of team, territory, and account specific strategies
  • Direct daily management of Technical Sales Specialists in the region. This includes but is not limited to performance evaluations, coaching, leading, and working with the home office to build the strongest possible commercial team in the EMEA region
  • Hiring and developing new TSS/TSM representatives for Consumable sales
  • Responsible for all aspects of the consumable’s sales process in the EMEA region, prospecting, managing leads, quotations, assisting in demonstrations (if required), negotiations, and contracts where necessary
  • Assure the development and execution of territory and account specific strategies
  • Work with field application scientist and their managers to assure sales targets are met.
  • Accurately forecast sales in the target markets and update on a weekly basis
  • Think both tactically and strategically to be able to achieve both short-term and long- term goals
  • Project management experience – Supporting customers’ needs through efficient consumable strategies
  • 9Establishes and develops a Best-in-Class sales organisation in the Life Science market
  • Focus the appropriate selling resources on each of the target markets
  • Manage the region to build and maintain a strong funnel to meet sales forecasts. Maintain 3X pipeline of consumables targets in each assigned territory
  • Establish and maintain contact with key accounts/customers/industry thought leaders
  • Ensure weekly accurate update the company CRM (Salesforce.com©)
  • Attend tradeshows, sales meetings, perform virtual presentations and other activities to support/explore growth
  • Develop new strategic relationships with non-competitive life sciences organisations
