Customer Support Advisor

Location: Home based with potential to be office based in Over, Cambridge next year (based on current government guidelines)

The requirements of the Customer Support Advisor:

  • In order to be considered for the Customer Service / Support Advisor role, you must have experience in Customer Service, over the phone working with customers (inbound or outbound) i.e sales order and quotation experience, purchasing experience, administration experience, freight, export, sales/ customer support or sales administrator
  • You will have experience doing technical support/ customer service for a product with E-commerce/ online retail experience (rather than a service), and you would ideally have some experience in a high call volume environment (incoming/ outgoing calls and associated admin/ paperwork) – ideally with some SAP/ SAP Business One experience
  • Although a Life Sciences/ Biotechnology based degree isn’t required, this would be highly beneficial
  • As the Customer Service / Support Advisor, you must hold a full UK driving licence as my client’s offices are unreachable by public transport and be in a commutable distance to Over, Cambridge

The role of the Customer Support Advisor:

  • Process sales and purchase orders, record sales opportunities and provide relevant commercial quotations when needed, working with managers and researchers in the lab across customers such as: Hospitals, Academia, Research facilities all the way to smaller private customers to include home beer brewers
  • This role forms part of our clients central customer support team which is the hub of their business. It requires an individual that can multi task, deal with a high volume of work in an effective but accurate manner and one who can provide excellent customer care at all times. This is a busy function that deals with all customer orders, customer quotations, customer queries and customer complaints via telephone, e-mail and on-line chats (monitor both the sales and export e-mail boxes)
  • It requires an understanding that “the more we can do now” and “deliver today”, the better our customers will feel. Tomorrow is too late. Help produce accurate quotations and generate tasks and files containing all essential information relating to that enquiry
  • • Respond to customer enquires in a helpful, timely and professional manner, assisting in the processing of sales orders, order processing, web enquiries, telephone enquiries, fax, email, or other source enquiries in order to achieve sales and margin targets as set by the company
  • Provide product technical support and advice to all customers and liaise with suppliers ensuring they offer products and technical information appropriate for our requirements including web technical enquiries
  • Liaise with the sales teams, all freight agents, chambers of commerce and other agents to ensure UK and overseas quotations and orders are processed efficiently and backed up with accurate documentation
