    Salary: £18,000 - £21,000 DOE + Up to 6% Pension Scheme + Private Medical Cover + Medicash Scheme + 25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays + Buy or Sell 5 Holidays + Cycle to Work Scheme + Profit Share Scheme

    The requirements of the Trainee Field Engineer:
    • As the Trainee Field Field Engineer you will be educated with an HNC, HND or a minimum of a BSc in a Life Sciences/Chemistry discipline or an ONC/HNC in an engineering discipline
    • You will ideally have experience of Servicing, Calibrating and Maintaining any industrial instruments/ equipment or working within a Laboratory environment in areas such as: Biological machines, Laboratory Equipment, Microbiology equipment or Chemistry/ other analytical equipment
    • Must hold a Full UK driving license
    • You will need to be able to show an aptitude for service and operation of this type of equipment, however full training will be given within this Field Service role
    • Experience of effective verbal communication skills, with excellent telephone manner


    The role of the Trainee Field Engineer:
    • Carry out calibrations, repairs and testing of the companies and third partys equipment at the repair shop in Cambridge
    • Attend sites across the United Kingdom to carry out PME, calibrations and repairs on the equipment
    • Be present at meetings / training at the head office (Cambridge) or at other sites as required around the world
    • Allow sales and other employees in the business to attend any site visits with you
    • Support the sales team with the generation of new business opportunities
    • Provide telephone / remote support to customers as required


    Other key tasks:
    • Organise site visits by liasing directly with customers
    • Complete and issue all required calibration certificates in a timely manner, as well as all paperwork, including the required administration activities on the business systems including SAP and Coresuite. This should include the closing of all jobs
    • Respond to any internal or customer communication quickly and effectively
    • Analyse what the company do and how they do it, so as to remove non value adding tasks. Identify any processes or tasks that could be improved with better systems or training etc.
    • Suggest and implement ways in which they can improve their overall customer service
