Business Development Executive – Analytical Chemistry

Salary: £25,000 – £29,000 + £7,000 OTE + Pension Scheme + Company Car + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Phone + Laptop + iPad

Territory: Scotland

The Requirements of Business Development Executive:

• You could be a chemistry graduate holding a minimum of a BSc in Analytical Chemistry, Forensic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Applied Chemistry etc. with a true passion for sales


• You could be an equipment sales person selling technical products relating to Science, Environment, Engineering or Electronics looking to take your next step

• You must have a thorough understanding of the sales process involved in instrument/equipment sales

• Experience selling into industries such as Academia, Environmental, Food & Drink, Petrochemical, Pharma, Life Science etc.

• Knowledge/Understanding of Analytical Science such as: Chromatography (HPLC, LCMS, GCMS), Spectroscopy or Total Organic Carbon (TOC) would be hugely beneficial

• Experience using these products or other rlated analytical equipment in a laboratory environment such as MALDI, UV-Vis, FTIR or ICP would be advantageous

• You must posses a full and clean UK Driver’s Licence

The Role of Business Development Executive:

• You must ensure you reach a high-level number of appointments each week to enable the continuous building of a robust and sustainable sales pipeline

• However, my client are a beliver in quality over quantity so you must implement a highly professional, consultative sales process that enables customer requirements to be fully addressed and exceeded

• You must research new customers across a range of sectors including Academia, Beverage, Chemical, Clinical, Energy, Environmental, Food, Petrochemical and Pharmaceutical markets

• Maintain the company CRM database for the territory in terms of all activity and customer contacts, customer information and sales opportunities, strictly on a regular basis

• You will represent the company at any trade or media events such as exhibitions/conferences

• Work with all other field personnel such as Technical Specialists, Service Engineers and Business Managers
