Brand Manager – Health & Beauty Contract Manufacturer

Salary: £Negotiable (DOE) + Profit Share Scheme + Free Parking + Discount on Products + 20 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays

Office Based: Peterborough

The Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years marketing experience. Blue chip FMCG useful but not necessary. However must be able to demonstrate experience across all elements of marketing – strategic planning, performance monitoring, NPD and the ability to work in a commercial environment influencing management in other functions (sales and product development mainly)

• Ideally industry experience of working with FMCG brands – health + beauty industry preferred but not essential depending upon background and experience

• Dynamic self-starter and motivator committed to providing an exceptional customer service in a very fast paced environment, having the ability to multi-task and having impeccable forward planning and organisational skills

• Travelling out to customers and meeting with them nationwide to assess their needs

• To be successful in post as the Brand Manager you will need to have a natural affinity with the Health & Beauty sector and prove that you are passionate about products and the industry!

The Role of Brand Manager:

• In the role of Brand Manager you will be responsible for continually developing and improving brand strategy for the branded product portfolio range, monitoring and improving company’s delivery of brand strategy

• You will be a key player in leading the commercial development of the brand

• Ensuring the excellent delivery of marketing activities

• Maintaining and developing a pipeline of ideas for brand development to improve in market competitiveness. Ideas based on insight about the external environment (consumer, customer or competitor). Ensure centrally sourced work (NPD or creative) is fit for the UK consumer

• Ensuring you and teams you lead comply with legal, regulatory and other standards as directed by the company

• Constant scanning of external environment to identify issues and opportunities. This should cover consumer, customer and competitor. Investigate alternate scenarios and present choices to the business

• Understanding consumer needs within sector and how the brand is performing vs. other brands. Understand target audience and segment market to target certain consumers to achieve profitable growth

• Communicating the agreed strategies to rest of organisation in a way which everyone will understand

• Monitoring performance of brands/products and the active management of ranging in terms of high and low performers

• Be a key driver of NPD internally through the business this involves co-ordinating multi-functions and activities, including close liaison with buyers, packaging technologist, R&D, suppliers and the customer. Carrying out a lot of risk analysis assessment, critical path management, packaging and artwork Management, copy writing/artwork/repro co-ordination, supplier briefing including components, fragrances & artwork houses, Product Lifecycle Management

• Ensuring all new product and live lines meet company margin criteria

• Providing back-up and point of contact for internal and external customers and suppliers and as appropriate, on behalf of other branded team members, ensure business matters are dealt with appropriately and where action is needed, forward to appropriate person

• Working closely with the Creative Team on product concept generation

• Working in conjunction with UK and Export sales teams on brand opportunities; customer and market driven and presentation support

• Management of events, PR agencies and advertising opportunities (where applicable)
