Technical Sales Representative – Laboratory Consumables

Salary: £18,000 – £25,000 (DOE) + £5,610 Commission Scheme (Paid Quarterly) + Up to £4,200 Annual Bonus + Company Car (Expensed) + Pension Scheme + Mobile Phone + Laptop + IPad + Company Credit Card + 22 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays

Territory: Scotland & North East England – including: Lothians (Edinburgh), Greater Glasgow, Abedeen, Dundee, Highlands, Dumfries, North/South Tyneside, Teeside, Northumberland, Middlesborough, Durham, Cumbria


The Requirements:

• As the Technical Sales Representative you will be a motivated & highly driven life sciences graduate who will ideally have experience in customer facing roles in environments such as: Internal Sales, Field Sales, Technical Support, Customer Services & Claims Advisor roles etc

• You could be currently working in a laboratory/research based role as a scientist or laboratory technician & have experience in areas/techniques such as: PCR, Electrophoresis, ELISA, Pipetting, Cell Culture, Sample Storage, Southern or Western Blotting etc & be motivated & driven to move into a scientific sales role

• The successful candidate must be educated to degree level in a biological based subject to include: Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics, Microbiology, Immunology, Biomedical Science or other related biological degree

• My client requires that the successful candidate possesses excellent communication and organisational skills, you must be a real self starter and have the ability & hunger to be autonomous as the Technical Sales Representative

• You must be living and based on the territory right now (relocation will not be considered) and you will need to hold a full UK drivers licence in order to be successful within the Technical Sales Representative role


The Responsibilities:
• Reporting directly to the Field Sales Manager you will be responsible for achieving & exceeding the forecasted sales target for the Scotland & North East England territory

• You will be working closely with key industries such as: Clinical/NHS, Academia & Industrial accounts dealing with key decision makers including Laboratory Scientists, Technical Staff & Procurement Representatives

• Identify and develop key accounts in assigned areas

• Monitor uptake of all leads to generate sales

• Maintain records of customer visits / quotes / samples

• Ensure you have knowledge of competitor companies and their products to ensure you can pitch the F&B’s of the company’s products appropriately

• Travel with the sales team & represent the company at local and national exhibitions/networking events

• Maximize new product sales & promote the companies brand

They have built up a core foundation of both employee & customer loyalty over this time which in turn has resulted in them been one of the most trusted companies in an ever changing market

• They are a privately owned & family run company employing 15 staff in the UK including both office based customer service & technical support staff & field based territory sales representatives. Within this role you will have the privilege of managing the company’s highest performing sales territory in the UK. You will receive full sales & product training when you start the role & will be equipped with all the tools to be successful

• Their products & services range from Automation Consumables, Market Leading Liquipette (Pasteur Pipettes), Micropipettes and Servicing (UKAS levels), Pipette Tips, 96 Well Array Microplates Tubes, Test Tubes, Caps, Vials, Pump Tubing, PCR Plastic Consumables & Stainless Steel Freezer Storage Racking solutions
