Electronics Engineer – Radiation Detection Systems

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + 5% Matched Pension + Private Health Insurance Scheme + Life Assurance + Share Options + 25 Days Holiday + 8 Bank Holidays + Opportunity to Work For An Exciting & High Growth Technology Company

Location: Office based in County Durham with occasional travel in the UK & Internationally

The Requirements of the Electronics Engineer:

• To be successful within the role of Electronics Engineer you will ideally have a minimum of 10 years experience in areas such as: Microcontroller and Microprocessor based design, Instrumentation design & PCB (Printed Circuit Boards) design for multi-layer complex boards (up to 6 layers)

• You will be educated to degree and hold either a B.Eng/ M.Eng/ BSc/ MSc in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Engineering or similar degree

• You will have the knowledge & experience of appropriate CAD tools for schematics and PCB design (such as Altium), circuit simulators and simulation tools

• Have a Sound understanding of design for test and test methodologies.

• Able to write clear documentation to required standards.

• Knowledge of current components and their supply chain

• Sound understanding of electronics manufacture and production.

• Experience of working with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers)

• You must hold a full clean UK Driving License & valid UK passport to travel internationally


The Role of the Electronics Engineer:

• Within the role of the Electronics Engineer you will be responsible for the design of electronic circuits and systems from specification through to build and test. These designs are for embedded systems which make use of a range of microcontrollers, microprocessor and signal conditioning circuits

• Develop well-structured, documented and easy to modify test designs

• You will be closely involved with component selection process for microcontrollers, RFICs, and other devices

• Working with other engineers you will develop, test and debug embedded systems for all stages of product from demonstrators to production

• You will be involved in test and debug and will have responsibility for the documentation of designs following appropriate design methodologies

• You will also get the opportunity to occasionally travel internationally and be involved in exciting projects at their centres of excellence in America
